Alina is almost XHTML 1.0 Strict with just four small changes.
Download Alina from drupal.org/project/alina. This Alina is 6.x-1.0 from 2008-Apr-16, a 137.34 KB download with the addition of the four changes described on this page. The theme is described as fluid in width but is not expanding to fill my window, so is not fluid.
The page.tpl.php file prints the scripts at the bottom of the page instead of in the header. If you are used to editing PHP code, edit page.tpl.php and move <?php print $scripts ?> from the bottom of the file to immediately before the line containing </head>.
There are characters that do not translate to the default UTF8 character set used for Web pages. In page.tpl.php, remove the line stating with <a style="float:right; font-size:10px" href="http://hturkey.ru">. You could also translate the text to English or read up on representation of text in UTF8 or use an alternative characterset or HTML special characters. See www.w3.org/International/tutorials/tutorial-char-enc.
The theme is missing the default style sheet language. In page.tpl.php, add <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" /> after <head> as shown in the following example.
<head>
<title><?php print $head_title ?></title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" />page.tpl.php could also add <meta http-equiv="Content-Script-Type" content="type" /> to allow for the occasions when people add Javascript to HTML elements.
I added all four of these changes to make Alina is 6.x-1.0 validate to XHTML 1.0 Strict. I hope the developers bring out an updated version incorporating the four changes.
